Am I alone here?
has anyone read the article in the Sentinel about the salaries of our principals? How sad it is that the folks who are working 24/7 for our schools(our KIDS!!) are being paid so little. One of the principals was given a job opportunity in Dublin for $15,000. more and said if the Board would give him $5000. more he would stay here.SOME MEMBERS ACTUALLY THOUGHT "WE SHOULD THINK ABOUT IT"! Meanwhile there was discussion to give the Treasurer who;s leaving a RAISE to keep him here....HE ALREADY MAKES $108,000. A FREAKIN' YEAR!!!!! You can keep books with a computer!
These are the best principals I've seen in all my years in G'ville.......
how about a raise for ALL of our teachers?......We have a string teacher and band teacher who teach EVERY ensemble from Middle School through H.S and are teaching every period with no prep period(s) at all......how about expanding the Music program staff?
Over 60% of the students participate in music. What would happen if we had ONE Math teacher for all of those grades?.....people would be up in arms!

Good Principals
Our HS principal leaves a little to be desired. More later
I thought so,too....
I used to think the same about Chuck. After getting one child through the HS I have a much higher opinion of Chuck. He does a great balancing act between students, teachers, staff and especially parents. He was always ready to get on track if something needed correcting. Sometimes you have to get his attention about things but his heart is in the right place.
He does a good job, in my experience.
My son thinks Mr. Dilbone is
My son thinks Mr. Dilbone is a reasonable principal.
I don't have enough data for an informed judgment. However, several years ago, Mr. Dilbone failed to support removal of pop machines in the high school and failed to support comprehensive sex ed. This is an issue for me.
